For a while, Bethesda fans did think that the phrase ' Redfall' had something to do with Elder Scrolls. However, the Elder Scrolls: Redfall leak was built on one important kernel of truth. Since then, though, the leaker admitted that they made up the leak about The Elder Scrolls 6: Redfall, and apologized for misleading Bethesda fans. ![]() For a long time, this leaker insisted the leak was true and even provided a fake NDA to try to bolster their credibility. The user claimed that the game's full name was The Elder Scrolls 6: Redfall, and shared detailed information about everything from the game's sprawling setting to a revamped crafting system. In spring of 2020, a member of the r/BethesdaSoftworks subreddit called ToddIsMyMom claimed to have detailed, exclusive information about The Elder Scrolls 6 and poured a massive leak onto the subreddit. RELATED: Cyberpunk 2077 Might Be Super Important to The Elder Scrolls 6 Reviewing the Elder Scrolls 6 'Leak' Although the leak has long since been proven false, hilariously, Redfall still shares its name with a fictional full title for The Elder Scrolls 6 make up by a Reddit user. Oddly enough, Redfall has a weird connection to a major Elder Scrolls 6 leak that took the internet by storm in the middle of 2020. However, that's not the only way that Redfall resembles Bethesda proper. Arkane Studios, the ground behind Dishonored and Prey, is working on a new IP called Redfall that appears to be an action-packed vampire hunting extravaganza.Īrkane Studios, like Bethesda, was a property of ZeniMax Media until Microsoft acquired ZeniMax, so Arkane got integrated into Xbox Game Studios at the same time as Bethesda Games Studios. That means the Xbox exclusive Redfall parallels Bethesda and Starfield's transitions into Xbox exclusivity. Although not everything fans were necessarily hoping for was there, as Microsoft didn't have anything new to say about far-flung titles like Fable or Avowed, critical games like Bethesda's new sci-fi IP Starfield were there. Bethesda didn't have much to say about new games, particularly the mysterious and hotly anticipated Elder Scrolls 6, but a Bethesda studio took up the final announcement slot in the Microsoft conference. The person I really feel for in all this, though, is Skyrim Grandma Shirley Curry, because goodness knows what this is going to do to The Elder Scrolls 6 release date.Microsoft swung for the fences in its presentation at E3 2021. Release date woes aside, here's everything else we currently know about Starfield if you're in need of a refresher. I was certain Bethesda would stick to their classic date gimmick of 11/11/22, but alas it is not to be. Still, both delays are major blows to the rest of this year's gaming calendar, as Starfield was one of the few games coming out this year with an actual release date. We may still get that big gameplay reveal in June, I should note, as Bethesda closed their announcement tweet about the game's delay saying that they'll be sharing "our first deep dive into the gameplay for both Redfall and Starfield soon". Starfield, though, has been getting regular development updates in the form of music deep dives, companion walkthroughs and more over the last couple of months - all of which I'd assumed would be leading up to a big grand gameplay reveal at this year's Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12th. Redfall's delay doesn't come as a total surprise, given we've seen next to nothing of the game since its big reveal at last year's Microsoft E3 conference. pqDtx26Uu6- Bethesda To see this content please enable targeting cookies. ![]() That energy is a huge part of what inspires all of us every day and drives our own excitement for what we are creating."Īn update on Redfall and Starfield. "We want to thank everyone for their excitement for Redfall and Starfield. The news arrived via a tweet this afternoon, with Bethesda stating, "The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Games Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them" when they release. Bethesda's RPG space epic was originally due to arrive on November 11th 2022, with Arkane Austin's first-person vampire survival game Redfall arriving sometime this summer, but now both titles have been shifted back to an unknown time between Janauary and June next year. Bethesda have just announced they're delaying Starfield and Redfall until the first half of 2023.
